Religious Exemption
Proponents of religious exemption believe that laws and governmental practices should not interfere with free exercise of beliefs. The right to act upon religious beliefs should never be infringed upon by governmental laws. That will guarantee that the government neither prefers religion over non-religion nor favors particular faiths over others.
Without Religious Exemption
Opponents of religious exemption argue that religious freedom can be misused to favor certain groups over others. They believe that any individual has the right to believe, but not always the right to act upon their beliefs. Laws must be in place to protect a human's rights, and prevent any religious action from infringing upon another's human rights.
