Anthony E. Gonzalez (born September 18, 1984) is an American politician and former American football wide receiver. He has served as the U.S. Representative for Ohio's 16th congressional district since 2019. He played college football at Ohio State, where he studied philosophy. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Following his sports career, which was cut short by injuries, he enrolled in graduate studies at Stanford University and earned a master's degree. Gonzalez was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives on November 6, 2018, sworn in on January 3, 2019, and reelected in 2020. In September 2021, Gonzalez announced he would not seek another term.
