Suhas Subramanyam (born September 26, 1986) is an American lawyer and member of the Virginia Senate, representing the 32nd district. He previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 87th district. A Democrat, he was elected in 2019 and became the first Indian-American, South Asian, and Hindu to ever be elected to the Virginia General Assembly. He previously served as a White House advisor to President Barack Obama. In 2023, Subramanyam was elected to the Virginia Senate, representing the 32nd district. Shortly thereafter, he announced his candidacy for the United States House of Representatives in the 2024 election to succeed Jennifer Wexton of the 10th district.
